The Tachi-Yokut native people were indigenous to the San Joaquin Valley and the foothills west of the Sierra Nevada mountains in California. They were a peaceful, hunter-gatherer people who were famous for their basketry. Today there are virtually no full-blooded Yokuts in existence.
